Jacuzzi Spa

In the 1960s, Jacuzzi became a big thing for parties. Everyone seemed to think they were a hot new way to socialize. Nothing could be further from the truth. Hot tubs were around in the ancient Roman and Greek cultures and in Japan from ancient times right through to today. Even in Victorian times, hot tubs were fed by hot springs and touted as healthy therapies for many ailments. Native Americans also knew the benefits of hot springs. In the 1800s, Americans would travel to hot springs to soak in the heated mineral baths to treat illnesses of all kinds. So hot tubs are really nothing new but they have evolved tremendously.

Significant advances in the 80s and 90s introduced the self-contained Jacuzzi spas. Because they were now built of less expensive materials, spas became more affordable. Now it is possible for people to have one in their backyard that could only dream of someday owing one just a couple of decades ago.
Medical research is finding that there are many benefits in the use of hot tubs for many people with health problems. This is especially true for people with motor deterioration, sore backs and muscle problems. Hydrotherapy is becoming a regular part of many physical therapy programs.
Spas also have been useful in reconnecting families. All to often, families drift apart because of TV, videos games and other such things.
