Indoor Hot Tub
Indoor Hot Tubs can be divided into three basic categories
1. Built in indoor hot tub
2. Portable Spa
3. Self contained hot tub unit
Built in Hot Tubs come in all shapes and sizes the sky is the limit, your imagination can be your guide. Generally a built in hot tub is designed into new construction or a remodel. Built in hot tubs can be made out of fiberglass/ plastic like a regular tub/shower or they can be custom built out of tile, shock crete, stone ect.
Portable Hot Tubs are an excellent and economical way to add a hot tub to your home. A portable hot tub can easily be added to your basement their are no problems with getting the hot tub through doors, down stairs ect. You will need a power source generally speaking a portable hot tub will use 110 volt current a GFI outlet needs to be used to avoid the risk of electrical shock.
Self-contained Hot Tubs are more expensive than portable hot tubs but less than a built in hot tub. The considerations of installing a self-contained indoor hot tub is, can you get the hot tub in your house? A sliding glass door will be large enough for most 4-person hot tubs, you need to carefully measure your opening before your new hot tub arrives and it will not fit.
