I have always enjoyed my weekend visit to Aunt Maggie's place and spending some quality time with her. She has always been one of the most enjoyable people to be with, in my opinion. We have so much in common that we can chat and talk until night time comes. We'll talk about anything from philosophy, our belief about religion the art of Feng Shui, experiences from gardening and just about any topic we can think about. Some of the time I would just sit on her patio, and watch her skillfully do her garden chores with care. She has always told me that her garden is like her baby and she loves it very much. When she feels tired from the work, she would stop and accompany me at the patio, catching her breath while resting on her gorgeous teak furniture set.

Her collection of teak furniture includes one long rectangular shaped table and also six comfortable chairs. Beside the table there is a mini magazine rack and another small teak table which has a gold colored water bowl that holds colorful floating candles and also beautiful flower plants. The whole collection seems perfect and has complex flower carvings on it thus making it look more exquisite. Aunt Maggie's family would normally have their breakfast on this beautiful set of furniture which overlooks the stunning garden. When I am there during teatime, Aunt Maggie and I would sit there, slowly sipping our tea and enjoying the pastries that her daughter made.

I mentioned to her how her chosen collection of teak furniture seems to have plain simple designs, and yet they do not lack that artistic touch. She just smiled after hearing my appreciation.

"You can actually find many types of teak wood furniture around town, most of them for sale at rational prices. But still, the best time to go look for them is right before any festive seasons come since all the shops in town will be having major sales", She advised me. She added that she actually bought the patio furniture on the internet, since its cheaper than actually going to a store and buying a similar one.

"I would love to have my own set of teak furniture too, but too bad Mum doesn't like the smell of the teak wood. She says that it smells bad and its not good for health, although I don't know where she gets that idea though. I cannot imagine what she will say if I really got myself a collection", I told her while we both laugh at the image of mum finding out I got myself a set of teak fittings. My mind turns back to the time I went into town and saw some beautiful and extravagant set of teak wood sets. The prices were reasonable also. There were outdoor furniture, beach chair, small delicate tables, and small ornament pieces made from teak wood.

I can see from her collection that Aunt Maggie likes to mix her collection of teak furniture. She has fixtures ranging from classical designs, to the modern era teak furnishing to the more contemporary designs. Teak furniture are special because they are more exquisite and beautiful compared to fittings made from other materials, they do what they are supposed to do and most importantly they last very long, Aunt Maggie tells me. That I have to agree. From the same website she also purchased her garden benches, which has the same characteristics of all her teak furniture. Unsophisticated designs, yet full of artistic sense.

"These are also easier to clean and to take care, "She says.

Teak patio sets certainly can help the overall presentation of any house, irregardless of whether it is the inside or the outside part of the house. Careful planning and matching teak fittings certainly can make the outside part of the house more lively and beautiful. The patio is not the only place where Aunt Maggie has furnishings around to beautify the place. She has a total of six teak chairs at her swimming pool behind her house. Besides that, there are small wooden tables around the swimming pool also for the convenience of people who uses the pool. There are also big umbrellas around to keep the sunlight away. I must say, the beach chairs complete the whole setting of the swimming pool area, since it would be weird to have pools without any chairs around.

Besides the patio and her swimming pool, Aunt Maggie obviously has decided to let the teak outdoor furniture work their magic somewhere else. Inside her garden are a few teak wood benches placed in strategic areas so that her garden would look more inviting and nicer with it. Each one of Aunt Maggie's fixture is unique in their own sense and also presents a lovely touch to her home.

I asked Aunt Maggie whether she incorporated Feng Shui into her decorations and furniture arrangements; she admitted she does take Feng Shui into consideration when decorating her home, both indoors and outdoors. She moderately applied the principles of Feng Shui to create a serene and balanced environment at her home. She believes this will enhance the luck of the home residents. However, she always takes care not to overdo it, because imbalance would create bad energy.

Strategically placed objects or proper placements of items in the home can create good energy and therefore brings good luck to the household, Aunt Maggie said. She has attended a Feng Shui class and has applied the knowledge to enhance her family luck.

People are choosing to purchase teak furniture because of their stylishness and because they can last longer than other fittings. Personal styles and identities always affect the choices of people in making purchases. Besides that, teak patio sets are getting more widely known for its comfort, that they can serve their purpose well and they look good as well.
